Bacardi offers may flavors of rum, including coconut and orange. But Bacardi Limon is one of our home bar staples. We’ve used Bacardi Limon in several drinks including our Strawberry Basil Mojito and this Lemon Agave Mojito. It’s a must try in the summertime!
Mojitos are perfect in the summertime. They are easy to adapt the recipe to a variety of seasonal fresh fruit. You can even use different types of mint and rum. We’ve made many different variations such as strawberry pomegranate mojitos and ginger basil mojitos.
Normally, mojitos are made with simple syrup or regular sugar. In this lemon agave mojito, we used organic blue agave nectar to give this drink a slight unexpected twist. Agave nectar is most often used in margarita recipes. Another cocktail that combines the flavors of lemon and agave nectar is the salty lemonade tequila cocktail. Guess it’s just a good flavor pairing. Or at least we think so.
The placement of the lemon wheels inside the glass makes a pretty presentation. We’ve done it before with the lemon basil Champagne cocktail. If you don’t have enough lemons on hand to do this, it’s okay. It won’t affect the taste of your drink. Just the look of it.

Lemon Agave Mojito
Ingredients
2 ounces Bacardi Limon rum
1 ounce organic blue agave nectar
3 mint leaves
soda water
ice
4 lemon wheels, for garnish
Preparation
Set three lemon wheels into the bottom of a tall Collins glass, using ice to keep them standing up in place.
In a cocktail shaker, muddle mint leaves with rum.
Add agave nectar and ice.
Shake and strain into the Collins glass.
Top with soda water.
Garnish with another lemon wheel.
Makes one lemon agave mojito.
