Lemon Basil Sparkler

It’s been a few days and your lemon infused vodka should be all ready to drink. As promised, here’s a cocktail recipe for it. This one combines the infused vodka with Champagne to create a perfectly refreshing Lemon Basil Cocktail.

Similar in presentation to the Lemon Agave Mojito, this drink uses slices of fresh lemons to make it look beautiful. And the combination of lemon and sparkling wine make it a perfect mix of sweet and tart.

The key with this drink however, is to get the right kind of sparkling wine (or champagne).

I first tried it with Veuve Clicquot Brut and all I could taste was the champagne. Next I tried the drink with Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante and it was perfect.

You can use whatever type of Champagne or sparkling wine you want but make sure that it is sweet instead of dry.

Ingredients

2 basil leaves

1 ounce lemon infused vodka

1/2 fresh squeezed lemon

Sweet sparkling wine

Lemon slices and basil leaves for garnish

Preparation

In a cocktail shaker, muddle basil and fresh squeezed lemon juice.

Add lemon infused vodka with ice and shake.

Fill a rocks glass with ice and strain contents of cocktail shaker into rocks glass.

Top with sparkling wine.

For garnish, push a few lemon wheels into the glass and add a few basil leaves at the top for color.

Makes 1 cocktail.

Cheers!
