For the past 6 months(ish) my go to drink at coffee shops has been hot Chai tea. I love the spices in the drink and it seems to be extremely difficult for them to mess up (unlike the coffee drinks).
The nice thing about Chai tea is that it is very easy to make at home and is a lot less expensive than going to the coffee shop. Also, when making at home you can add alcohol to it and alcohol always makes everything better.
For this spiked Chai tea we decided to tweak it with 360 Madagascar Vanilla Vodka and to really bump up the spice with a very small shot of Allspice Dram (a little goes a long way with the Dram).
You can make this drink hot or cold depending on what you want at the moment.
Spiked Vanilla Chai
Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces 360 Madagascar Vanilla Vodka
1/4 ounce Allspice Dram
Chai tea
Whatever type of milk or milk like beverage you want (I use almond milk)
Ice (if you want an iced drink)
Cinnamon sticks for garnish
Preparation
To make a hot chai, mix half chai and half milk in a coffee mug and then heat in pot over stove.
Pour into a coffee mug and add vanilla vodka and Allspice Dram.
Stir and garnish with cinnamon stick.
To make iced chai, fill rocks glass with ice and then pour half chai and half milk into glass.
Add vanilla vodka and Allspice Dram.
Stir and garnish with cinnamon stick.
Makes 1 spiked vanilla chai tea.
