Starburst Infused Vodka

I had so many different ideas for Halloween inspired cocktails.

Sadly time got away from me and I wasn’t able to create most of them. Maybe next year…

Fortunately, I did find a way to accomplish this creation of candy infused vodka which can be used in many different ways. (Remember that Candy Cane Infused Vodka we made? So yummy!)

My kids always come home with so many 2 packs of Starbursts in their candy sacks after trick or treating. Since I know they can’t eat all of them, I figured it was best if some were shared with the me since I have to take them out to get the candy. Sharing is caring, right?

With this Starburst infused vodka, I decided to separate the flavors so that I had 4 different vodkas to use. The package I used had lemon, strawberry, cherry, and orange. All good flavors for cocktails.

You can use whatever flavors you want and whatever flavor combinations sound good.

How to make Starburst Infused Vodka

First, separate the Starburst for the different infusions you are going to make.

Remove the wrappers and put into mason jars or empty water bottles (basically anything that has a lid, fits in the fridge, and is shakeable). I think I used 12-14 candies per jar.

Fill containers with vodka.

Cover with lid and put in fridge until Starburst are fully dissolved (mine took about 48 hours). Shake as often as possible.

Once the candy is dissolved, strain the vodka through cheesecloth to remove the foam and any little candy particles still there. You might have to strain a few times.

Put the vodka into glass mason jars, ready for serving.

To use Starburst Infused Vodka

You can use the infused vodka in many different cocktail creations.

Some ideas for you…

Replace the vodka in a Lemon Drop Martini  with Lemon Starburst Vodka.

Use Cherry Starburst Vodka in the Cherry Bomb Cocktail.

Orange Starburst Vodka would work in the Orange Creamsicle Martini.

Or you could always mix the vodka with soda water, drink straight over ice, or as a shot.

Let your imagination go wild with the possibilities.

Cheers!
