Sometimes it’s nice to mix up mojito recipes a bit and with fresh fruit and different herbs as we did in the Pineapple Mojito and the Blackberry Mojito. In this drink strawberries and basil pair nicely with mint and Bacardi Limon Rum to keep your mouth satisfied in the hot sun.
Strawberry Basil Mojito
Ingredients
2 ounces Bacardi Limon Rum
1/2 ounce home made simple syrup
1/2 teaspoon Gourmet Garden Basil (found in the fresh produce section)*
5 mint leaves
1 sliced strawberry
soda water
ice
1 mint sprig, for garnish
*can be substituted with three sweet basil leaves
Preparation
Muddle mint leaves, sliced strawberry and basil paste in a cocktail shaker with simple syrup.
Add ice and rum.
Shake and pour contents into a mason jar.
Add more ice, if needed, and top with soda water.
Garnish with mint sprig.
Cheers!
