Our last spirit review was all about KINKY Liqueur used in the Pink Martini and a Valentine’s Cocktail. If you have been following along with One Martini for any period of time, you know that we big huge puffy heart love vodka cocktails, so today we are over the moon excited to tell you about Tahoe Blue Vodka.
About Tahoe Blue Vodka
Tahoe Blue Vodka is unlike any vodka I have ever tasted. Instead of being made from 100% grain, potatoes or grapes, Tahoe Blue Vodka is made from a blend of 50% sugarcane, 25% grape and 25% grain. My husband and I tried the vodka over ice for our first tasting. Our responses…”that’s smooth” and then we each finished our glass.
The company is headquartered in South Lake Tahoe, California and the vodka is distilled in Mountain View, California by Essential Spirits. Not only do they make a great vodka but they also donate a portion of the proceeds to help preserve Lake Tahoe. If you have ever been to Tahoe you know how important it is to keep that lake clear and beautiful.
Here’s a short YouTube video of the guys behind Tahoe Blue Vodka talking about why they started the company. Also, follow Tahoe Blue Vodka on Facebook to see great pictures of the vodka at the lake, new locations to buy and more.
Where to Buy Tahoe Blue Vodka
Tahoe Blue Vodka is still fairly new so it’s not available to buy everywhere. On their website they have a map of locations where you can buy it by the bottle and by the glass. It’s also possible to order a bottle (or three) of Tahoe Blue Vodka from K&L Wines for $29.99 if you are in one of their ship-friendly states.

Since my go-to cocktail is a straight up vodka martini, a smooth vodka is very important, I will have to try it!
I’m not normally a straight vodka drinker but this one I enjoyed on the rocks.
I wondered about that one when I saw your pictures. I usually can’t drink vodka because it tastes like rubbing alcohol, but it sounds like this one is way better.
Vodka is one of my favorite spirits but I usually have it in mixed drinks. With this vodka I found I didn’t really want to mix it because I liked the taste.
Oh, vodka is a favorite of mine! Sounds like this one is really smooth too.
When you come to Reno you can try it….
I’m a vodka fan! Wonder how this vodka would taste mixed into a dirty martini?!
I haven’t tried it in a dirty martini but everything else I’ve had it in has been really good.
