For week’s I’ve been working on some kind of tequila cocktail with grapefruit but different from the Grapefruit Margarita. I wanted something more of a mixed drink in a rocks glass.
So, I experimented with different creations with different ingredients with different liquors, testing them out on my poor, unsuspecting husband until finally one day I hit the nail on the head with this concoction.
It’s herbally, it’s grapefruity, it’s delicious. And it’s strong. Can’t beat that.
Plus it uses another ingredient from my garden just like the Tomato Basil Cocktail and the Raspberry Jalapeno Margarita.
Thai One On Cocktail
Ingredients
4-5 Thai basil leaves
1/2 fresh squeezed lime
1 1/2 ounces anejo tequila
1/2 ounce Green Chartreuse
San Pellegrino Grapefruit
Ice
Preparation
In a cocktail shaker, muddle Thai basil leaves and fresh squeezed lime. Add tequila and Chartreuse with ice and shake.
Fill a rocks glass with ice and strain ingredients from cocktail shaker into rocks glass.
Top with San Pellegrino Grapefruit and garnish with lime wheel and sprig of Thai basil.
Makes 1 cocktail.
Cheers!
