The last few Valentine’s Cocktails we posted were the Cherry Martini, the Red Velvet Martini and the KINKY Love Martini. All of those mixed drinks were ones I created (with some help from my husband). Now it’s time to give you some cocktail recipes that have been around the block a time or two.
Valentine’s Cocktails
Between The Sheets Cocktail
How can a cocktail named Between The Sheets not be perfect for Valentine’s Day? This cocktail recipe successfully combines 3 spirits with a little bit of lemon. Plus it has a pretty yellow color from the brandy and the lemon juice.
Between The Sheets Cocktail Recipe
Ingredients
1 ounce brandy
1 ounce light rum
1 ounce Triple Sec
3/4 ounce fresh squeezed lemon
Lemon twist for garnish
Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist. Serves 1.
Flirtini Martini
The Flirtini Martini was made popular by the TV show Sex and the City. I’ve seen many different recipes for this cocktail floating around but the one I’m going to share is from Gary Regan in The Joy of Mixology.
The vodka really comes through in this drink so I recommend making it with a vodka you like. I chose Tahoe Blue Vodka for mine.
The martini recipe calls for Chambord which I’m not a fan of so I used the same raspberry liqueur I used in the Raspberry Mojito. And I added a maraschino cherry for garnish because I liked the color it added at the bottom of the drink.
Flirtini Martini Recipe
Ingredients
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce pineapple juice
1/4 ounce Chambord
Maraschino cherry for garnish
Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry. Serves 1.
